On Sunday, September 21, singers from throughout the Presbytery joined gathered at St. Matthew’s United Church in Inverness. Under the direction of Kay Horton, and accompanied by Al Fougere on organ, the choirs joined together to sing hymns, both new and familiar. Choirs from Baddeck, Margaree, West Bay, and St. John’s Pastoral Charge offered a few selections, as did the Ecumenical Gaelic Choir under the direction of Catriona Parsons. The afternoon concluded with refreshments provided by St. John’s Pastoral Charge.
Many thanks are due to those who took part. As special thanks to the singers, members of the Christian Life and Growth committee, and to the St. John’s Pastoral Charge. By all accounts, it was a wonderful afternoon. Said one singer, “It has been a long time since I heard How Great Thou Art sung like that!” We hope a similar event may be held in future.
