St David’s United Church
St. David’s has a membership of 150, with an average of 40 people attending service each Sunday and a small, active Sunday School. One of the unique aspects of St. David’s is that three generations of families often worship each Sunday. This energy is enhanced by the social gatherings at community meals and events. There is a strong sense of community among the members of the congregation.
Our minister, Nan Corrigan, has office hours at St. David’s on Wednesday mornings. Leaders of our children’s ministry use the lectionary-based curriculum The Best of Whole People of God Online. St. David’s shares a paid organist/choir director with St. Mark’s and has a small but enthusiastic volunteer choir. The hymn books, Voices United and More Voices are used. On most Sundays members of the congregation take part in the worship service by reading scripture and presenting a Minute for Mission. Prior to worship we have a brief hymn sing (2 favourite hymns) each week.
St Mark’s United Church
St. Mark’s serves a congregation of 150 families with an average attendance of 45. The membership consists of families who have been coming for many years and new families to the area. There is a strong sense of caring and community among the members and this is best seen when the congregation shakes hands and greets one another as part of Sunday morning worship.
In 2016, St. Mark’s celebrated their 50th Anniversary and hosted a number of special events. See the blog for both St. David’s and St. Mark’s at http://ourcontactonline.blogspot.ca/There you will find pictures of the Jubilee celebrations and weekly announcements and orders of service.
St. Mark’s has a paid organist/choir director with a volunteer choir. The hymn books, Voices United and More Voices are used. Lay people participate in the service by reading scripture and Minute for Mission.
